The landing page mistakes that cost you most are rarely obvious: too many calls to action, a headline that does not match the ad, slow load times, no trust signals, long forms, hidden pricing, and writing about yourself instead of the customer. Each one leaks conversions quietly. Fix them and the same traffic performs better.
A page can look perfectly fine and still bleed customers. These are the seven leaks we find most often.
1. Too many calls to action
Give people three things to do and most do none. One page, one action.
2. A headline that does not match the ad
If the page does not instantly confirm the promise that got the click, trust drops and visitors bounce.
3. Slow load times
Speed is invisible until you measure it. A sluggish page loses people before they read a word.
4. No trust signals
Strangers need reasons to believe you. No reviews, results or guarantees means no reassurance at the moment of doubt.
5. Long forms
Every extra field is a reason to leave. Ask for the minimum now; get the rest in the follow-up.
6. Hidden pricing
Total secrecy about price breeds suspicion and drop-off. Give enough for people to self-qualify.
7. Writing about yourself
“We are a leading provider of…” helps nobody. Lead with the customer’s outcome, then explain how you deliver it.
None of these are hard to fix; they are just easy to miss. Run your page against our 12-point conversion checklist and read the full landing page guide for the fixes.
